THIS COUPLE WISHED FOR A FUNCTIONAL SPACE WHILE INCORPORATING A SEXY FEEL. THE MANDATES FOR THE SPACE INCLUDED A SEPARATE SHOWER, FREE STANDING TUB, TWO SINKS AND A BRIGHT, MINIMALISTIC, EUROPEAN FEEL. THE30-YEAR-OLD DARK, SMALLS PACE, HAD A DROP-IN SOAKER TUB, TOILET AND SINGLE SINK.

CHALLENGES INCLUDED THE LOCATION OF WINDOWS AND TWO EXTERIOR WALLS, MAKING IT HARD TO RELOCATE PLUMBING AND THE ELECTRICAL PANEL CLOSE TO FULL CAPACITY. AFTER SOURCING A 55 ”FREESTANDING TUB, THIS NOT ONLY BECAME THE SOLUTION BUT ALSO THE INSPIRATION, ALLOWING FOR A SEAMLESS WALK IN SHOWER WITH A BRIGHT OPEN FEEL.

WHAT IT TOOK:

A SUBWALL FURRED 6” ON THE WEST EXTERIOR WALL, ACCOMMODATES SHOWER PLUMBING, BECOMING A FEATURE WALL. A 60” LINEAR DRAIN CATCHES WATER FROM THE THREE-SIDED FLOORS LOP WHILE IN FLOOR HEAT EVAPORATES EXCESS. REPLACING THE POCKET DOOR WITH A BARN DOOR, ENABLED THE RELOCATION OF THE LIGHT SWITCHES FROM THE SHOWER AREA. REPURPOSING OF EXISTING CIRCUITS WAS NEEDED WITH LIMITED ELECTRICAL PANEL SPACE.

THE IN-FLOOR HEATING THERMOSTAT REPLACED THE JETTED SOAKER TUBE ELECTRICAL. THE VANITY BAR SUPPLIED ELECTRICITY TO THE LED MIRRORS. A SPOTLIGHT WAS FOUND IN THE CEILING DROP UPON DEMOLITION. THIS SUPPLIED POWER TO THE THREE NEW POTS.

A CEILING DROP OVER THE SOAKER TUB LEFT THE SPACE FEELING SMALL AND DARK. FULL REMOVAL WAS IMPOSSIBLE WITH THE ROOF LINE BUT A PULL BACK OF 24” GAVE IT THE FEELING I WAS LOOKING FOR. FRAMELESS FLOOR TO CEILING GLASS SEPARATES THE SHOWER AREA MAKING IT FEEL SPACIOUS.

THE SEAMLESS, CONCEALED LINEAR DRAIN, FLOOR TO CEILING TILE AND OPEN CONCEPT, MAKES THE SPACE FEEL BIGGER AND MAKES CLEANING A BREEZE! A FREE STANDING GOOSENECK FAUCET IS EQUIPPED WITH A SEPARATE HANDHELD SHOWER.

NO WASTED SPACE HERE! THE DOOR FRAME AND CUSTOM VANITY SLIDEOUTS HELP PUT EVERYTHING IN ITS PLACE. THE DOOR FRAME SLIDE OUT IS CONVENIENT FOR THE SMALL BOTTLES THAT GET LOST IN DRAWERS. AN OCCUPANCY SENSOR FOR UNDER CABINET LIGHTING CREATES SOFT EVENING LIGHTING LUXURIOUS SILK IN FUSED GLASS IN THE BARN DOOR AND ADJACENT WINDOW FROM THE SHOWER, BRIGHTEN THE ROOM AND ADD TO THE SPACIOUS FEEL.

ROBE HOOKS WERE USED FOR TOWELS LENDING SIMPLICITY. IT IS AN EASY REACH FROM BOTH SHOWER AND TUB AND IS OUT OF THE WAY OF ANY SPRAY.

DEMILAV VESSEL SINKS IN BASALT GREY ADD INTEREST TO A NEUTRAL PALETTE BRINGING OUT THE GREY VEINS OF THE COUNTERTOP. THE CHROME, GOOSENECK, WALL MOUNTED FAUCETS, KEEP CLEANING EASY. A VIBRANT TURQUOISE VASE WAS CHOSEN FOR A SPLASH OF COLOUR AND COORDINATES PERFECTLY WITH THE SEXY CANVAS ON THE WEST WALL.
